Singapore University Games 2019 Overview

Yet another thrilling weekend at NTU fields, congratulations to Singapore Institute of Management, National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University in their podium finishes! Fantastic performance from teams over the weekend with crazy athletic plays, great display of spirit of the game even when the competition is tight. Every school displayed their unique attributes on and off the field. SMU vs SIT on day 1 showcased a use of quick decisive pull plays, putting their speedy mid cutters to great use to end the points fast. Day 2 commenced with an exciting first round of games between NTU and SMU with a heart pounding endzone play to end the universe point with a score of 9-8 to NTU. Round 2 if games commenced with SIT vs SUTD with a shockingly close scoreline of 9-7. Next came an "El Clásico" match between championship contenders SIM and NUS, with SIM taking an early break in the first half. NUS was resilient and tenacious in their defense coming back with a jarring 8-7 (To SIM) at time cap. A clinical offense from SIM closed the game with a score of 9-7. Top 4 teams of the Singapore University Games 2019 will advance to the Institute-Varsity-Polytechnic Games (IVP Games) held in Jan 2020.
